We were able to meet Juliana, from Southern Louisiana, at our show pig camp and sale in South Arkansas. We were quickly impressed with her enthusiasm for the industry and the amount of work she put into feeding and training her pigs. She has had lots of success in the ring, with champion titles, class wins and showmanship wins! Here is a bit of info Juliana wrote about how she started showing!
Hi my name is Juliana and I am 14 years old. I have been showing pigs for 6 years. I guess I can say my cousin Kerrigan Fitch got me started. Kerrigan and I have always been close and I always looked up to her. So every time she would show I would beg my nanny to bring me and she would. I have been going to pig shows since I was about 7, and I was so intrigued by the pigs I asked her if I could get into it. She taught me almost everything I know but I do have to give some credit to Avery Boudreaux because he taught me how to be calm cool and collective while showing which still helps me to this day. After being in someone else’s barn for three years now, we finally got our own barn at a property in Loreauville. So one day my dad asked me if I wanted to go to Arkansas to go to a Pig Show Camp, I of course said yes. When I got there I met Mrs. Stephanie and Mr. Andrew they were super nice and generous. I have shown a few White House Genetic swine and I have been impressed with all of them. My first pig was the best at showmanship because he was slow and calm. I look forward to several more shows with WHG by my side. I am so happy I agreed to go to the pig camps a year ago because I wouldn’t have great breeders by my side
