We are always proud of our showman and the hard work they put forth while in the showring. Each showman has their own style of how they drive their hog, but more importantly they demonstrate perseverance and knowledge of their livestock! We would like you to meet Dalyn. He has shown pigs that have came from the White House barn for the past two years! Thank you Dalyn for sharing some information about yourself.
My name is Dalyn Johnson and I live on a small farm north of Sweet Springs, MO. I am a fifth grader at Sweet Springs R-7 Elementary. We have horses, donkeys, quail, cattle, chickens, our dog Bella, show heifers, and show pigs. I joined Liberty 4-H five years ago and began my show career. I started showing bucket calves raised off our farm and my cousin's pigs in the local pee wee shows. I am now a member of the Missouri Cattlemen's Association and Missouri Pork Associaiton youth show pig circuit.
Bullet was my first show heifer and I still have her today. I also have Cocoa a Chi heifer. My sisters, Ashtyn and Braelyn and I showed three gilts and two barrows this year. We showed at most of the circuit shows, Missouri Showdown, Saline County Fair, Missouri State Fair, Slater Show, Sweet Springs Livestock Show, and at the Natonal Jr Show in Springfield, IL. This was my first year showing poultry at the Saline County Fair. Showing is a fun filled life experience that takes hard work, dedication, responsibility, and lots of time and money, but it is all worth the life experience I am gaining and learning. I am also active in summer baseball, football, and basketball. My other interests include hunting deer, turkey, geese, and duck, shooting clays and targets, archery, fishing, being outdoors, playing the drum and riding my dirt bike.
